Thornton Hospital is a 120-bed hospital built on the philosophy that when you are in a comfortable environment it is easier to heal. It is located conveniently in UTC/ La Jolla surrounded by scenic views of the rolling hills of the UCSD La Jolla campus. This is the primary site for our elective cosmetic and reconstructive surgery programs. Thornton Hospital contains an emergency room, a twelve-bed intensive care unit, a cardiac catheterization suite, and seven operating rooms. Additionally, we hold a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the adjacent Edith and William M.
